  1. There were many similarities in reaction to the Platoon and the things they carried. My perception on war had always been just the regular thought. It's bad and our soldiers fight for our country. But the Platoon shows more gore and brother ship between the soldiers that I didn't see in The Things They Carried. Also I believe that out soldiers should only fight for our country and not act like police officers for other countries and fight battle for them. In the Book it shows more about the confusion of why the soldiers were even there in the first place. Also the war can go to the solders heads and make them on the crazier side. The main character of the Platoon punched the Sargent with the scar and they got into a fight over their differences. They were not able to trust each other after that and their platoon split up. In the novel two men also get in a fight at the begging of the book when one guy stole another guys knife. They took got out of hand and couldn't trust each other anymore. The war physiologically makes soldiers crazy.
